While Instagram mainly focuses on sharing images and videos, Threads emphasises text messaging. With this app, you can share your thoughts, ideas and opinions with the world in up to 500 characters.

It is a strategic move by Meta to launch a platform very similar to X, the former Twitter. X has been experiencing a decline in user numbers for quite some time, while Threads managed to attract 10 million users immediately at its launch, in August last year. The fact that you can sign up via Instagram with just two clicks probably also plays a part in this. Since December, Threads has also been available in Europe and we see more and more companies gratefully using this app. The big advantage of Threads over X is that Threads is part of the ever-growing Meta and X stood alone.

What is Instagram Threads?

Threads is a social media app that, we mentioned earlier, was developed by Meta, Instagram's parent company. Unlike Instagram, which is mainly focused on sharing photos and videos, Threads is designed for text-based sharing. With its simple interface and focused features, Threads has quickly gained popularity among users looking for a more direct and private way of communicating on social media.

Opportunities for businesses
