Why backups?

Have you ever thought of making a website backup? Such a backup allows you to restore files and data if you lose them. This could be due to a wrong manual action, an update, a bug or hacking.

It goes without saying that it is important to take regular backups. If something goes wrong, you will always have a recent copy to hand. That way, you will never lose a lot of data.

Why a website backup is important

A backup is two-part

WordPress backup consists of a backup of server files and a backup of the database. On the server you will find code, images, plugins and folders. All Javascripts and PHP scripts are also on the server. The database contains all the "data" or content of your website.

You usually make a WordPress backup via the hosting provider's control panel. This is the easiest way to take an automatic backup. Unfortunately, for a backup of the entire server, this is not the most ideal way, as these kinds of backups take up a lot of space.

For this, it is better to make a manual backup or have one made by an expert.
