Roadmap: How to restore a deleted campaign in Meta Ads Manager

It can happen that a campaign is accidentally deleted in Meta Ads Manager. Fortunately, you don't have to rebuild it from scratch: through a few simple steps, you can recover the campaign by creating a duplicate. In this guide, you will read step by step how to reactivate a deleted campaign.
Roadmap:
- Open Meta Ads Manager
You open Meta Ads Manager from your Facebook homepage by clicking Meta Suite in the menu and then Ads Manager. Next, make sure you are logged in with the correct ad account in which the campaign was active. - Go to the 'Campaigns' tab
Click the Campaigns tab at the top. Here you get an overview of all your campaigns: active, paused and deleted. Then use the account drop-down list at the top left to check whether you have selected the right ad account. - Filter on deleted campaigns
At the top, click Filters and choose Deleted. This will show only the campaigns that have been deleted. - Select the correct deleted campaign
Find the campaign you want to restore and tick the checkbox next to it.
Does the campaign not appear in the list? Then check the date filter set and make sure the period in which the campaign ran is included - Open the campaign settings
With the campaign selected, click Edit. A window opens with all the details: ad sets, ads, targets, etc. - Duplicate campaign
Since a deleted campaign cannot be immediately restored, click Duplicate. A copy of the campaign will then be created, including all associated ad sets and ads. - Check and adjust the copy
In the duplicated campaign window, you can go through all the settings, such as the objective, budget, targeting and creatives. Adjust them if necessary so that the campaign perfectly matches your current marketing goals. - Publish the duplicated campaign
Are you satisfied with the settings? Then click Publish. This adds the campaign as a new, active campaign in Ads Manager, preserving its original structure. - Monitor performance
After publication, keep a close eye on the results and pay attention to key metrics such as impressions, clicks, conversions and cost per result. This way, you can be sure that the repurposed campaign is performing optimally.
