Set up IMAP mailbox in Outlook 2013 or 2016

To set up your mailbox in Outlook 2013 or 2016, follow the steps below:

1. Add a new account
2. Select the "Manual setting or additional server types" option
3. Choose "IMAP“
4. Enter your login details
   1. For incoming server is this imap.mailprotect.be - port 993, SSL/TLS
   2. For outgoing server is this smtp-auth.mailprotect.be - port 587, SSL/TLS
5. Before you click "next", click "More settings" at the bottom right.
6. Go to the "Outgoing e-mail server" tab and check the option "Authentication is required for the server for my outgoing e-mail (SMTP)". Select the option: "Use the same settings as for my incoming e-mail" and click "OK".
7. Go to the "advanced" tab (see image) and make sure the ports match these details:
   1. For incoming server is this port 993, SSL/TLS
   2. For outgoing server is this port 465, SSL/TLS
   3. If your outgoing server port does not work, use port 587, SSL/TLS
8. Click next and wait for verification.
9. Your mailbox is now set!

Setting up an IMAP mailbox in Apple Mail

To set up your mailbox in Apple Mail, follow the steps below:

1. From the navigation bar at the top, go to "Mail" > "Preferences"
2. Go to the "Account" tab and click on the plus sign at the bottom to add an account
3. Choose "Other Mail account" and continue
4. Enter your name, e-mail address and password and continue
5. Apple's auto-check will fail, but that's not a problem
6. Choose IMAP from the drop-down menu and fill in the missing data
   1. For incoming server is this imap.mailprotect.be - port 993, SSL/TLS
   2. For outgoing server is this smtp-auth.mailprotect.be - port 587, SSL/TLS
   3. If your outgoing server port does not work, use port 465, SSL/TLS
7. Select the apps you want to use with this mail account and complete the configuration
8. Your mailbox is now set!

Set up IMAP mailbox in Gmail

To set up your mailbox in Gmail, follow the steps below:

1. Log in to your Gmail account
2. When logged in to your account, go to the top right corner of your webmail where you click on the cog icon. Choose "Settings
3. In the control panel, choose "Accounts and import".
4. Choose "Add a mail account"
5. In the pop-up window that now appears, you can enter your other e-mail address. Click on "Next" to continue
6. Choose "Import emails from my other account (POP3)" and click "Next".
7. Enter your username, password and your server information. Click on "Add Account" when you are done
   1. For POP Server, this is pop3.mailprotect.be - port 995
8. Your account has been added. You will now be asked if you also want to send mails with this new account. In this case: gebruiker1@domeinnaam.be. You can change this option later. Click on "Next" to continue.
9. Your account has now been added! You will now be asked if you also want to send mails with this new account.
10. Click "Next" to continue.
11. Enter your name at the new e-mail address. Click on "Next step".
12. Enter the settings of your SMTP server. Click on "Add account".
    1. For outgoing server is this smtp-auth.mailprotect.be - port 587, TLS
    2. If your outgoing server port does not work, use port 465, SSL/TLS
13. You now get the message that your other server could be found successfully.
14. To confirm verification, enter a verficiation code and click "Confirm", or click the link in the confirmation e-mail.
15. In your account settings, you can now see the added account: gebruiker1@dierckxen.be; you will now be able to send and receive mails with this account.
